Le caldaie e gli scambiatori di calore sono notoriamente soggetti alla formazione di depositi a causa di una serie di impurit\u00e0 nell'acqua di alimentazione. L'acqua di reintegro dell'impianto veniva preparata mediante addolcimento in loco, con occasionali inconvenienti. Quando \u00e8 stata condotta un'indagine sulla superficie interna della caldaia, \u00e8 stato stimato che lo spessore delle incrostazioni accumulate era di circa 0,635 mm. Consapevole del fatto che i depositi della caldaia, che rovinano l'efficienza, possono avere un impatto sui profitti, causare perdite di acqua calda di scarico e corrodere le apparecchiature, la
